Campus Wi-Fi Connection

Three different wireless networks are broadcast across the Hasan Kalyoncu University campus.

1. Available Networks

Network Name (SSID) User Authentication
HKU-WIFI Students and staff WPA2-Enterprise (institutional account)
HKU-Wi-Fi HKU and other eduroam member institution members WPA2-Enterprise (institutional account)
HKU-Guest Visitors SMS verification in compliance with Law No. 5651
Recommendation: The primary network for HKU students and staff is HKU-Wi-Fi. Once you configure your device, it will automatically connect at 10,000+ institutions worldwide.

2. Credentials

  • Username: Your institutional email address (in full, e.g. 202312345@std.hku.edu.tr or mehmet.yilmaz@hku.edu.tr)
  • Password: Your institutional account password
  • Security: WPA2-Enterprise, EAP type PEAP, inner authentication MSCHAPv2

3. Windows 10 / 11

  1. Click the network icon in the taskbar and select the HKU-Wi-Fi network.
  2. Check the “Connect automatically” box and click the “Connect” button.
  3. Enter your username and password.
  4. If a certificate trust warning appears, confirm by clicking “Connect”.

4. macOS

  1. Click the Wi-Fi icon in the menu bar and select HKU-Wi-Fi.
  2. Enter your username and password.
  3. In the certificate confirmation window, select “Trust”.

5. iOS / iPadOS

  1. Go to Settings > Wi-Fi and select HKU-Wi-Fi.
  2. Enter your username and password, then tap “Join”.
  3. On the certificate screen, tap “Trust”.

6. Android

  1. Go to Settings > Wi-Fi and select the HKU-Wi-Fi network.
  2. EAP method: PEAP
  3. Phase 2 authentication: MSCHAPV2
  4. CA certificate: Do not validate
  5. Domain: hku.edu.tr
  6. Identity: Your institutional email address
  7. Password: Your institutional account password

7. Guest Network

  1. Select the HKU-Guest network.
  2. Your browser will automatically redirect to the authentication page.
  3. Log in using your national ID number and mobile phone number.
  4. Enter the verification code received by SMS.
  5. Session duration is 24 hours.
