1. Purpose and Scope

Defines the licensing, distribution, usage and retrieval standards for software packages provided free of charge to Hasan Kalyoncu University students and staff for educational and research purposes.

2. Key Message

The following professional software packages are provided to HKU students and staff completely free of charge for educational and research purposes. You may also install them on your personal devices. The license is valid as long as your institutional email account is active.

4. Access Process

  1. Submit a “Software License Request” form (BİM.FR.05) via https://destek.hku.edu.tr
  2. Specify the software you wish to use
  3. Active institutional email is verified automatically
  4. License details sent by email within 1 business day (activation link / code)
  5. Installation guide provided

5. License Duration

  • Valid for as long as the user is an active student or staff member
  • License is automatically suspended after account closure (aligned with BİM.PR.15)

6. Usage Restrictions (P28 + P21)

  • Educational and research purposes only
  • Commercial use prohibited (license violation — may have legal consequences)
  • Sharing license activation codes is prohibited
  • IT may audit software usage logs where necessary (BİM.PR.24)

7. License Inventory

All software licenses are recorded in the inventory by IT Software Development (BİM.PR.22). A license tracking register is maintained for annual vendor reporting.

8. Violation

KYS.POL.04 Art.55 + P28 + copyright legislation (FSEK).
